Girls Write Now proudly partners with bestselling author Suleika Jaouad on The Alchemy Fund to support the transformative power of writing, mentoring, and community. Suleika’s new publication The Book of Alchemy: A Creative Practice for an Inspired Life is a guiding light for people tapping into their creative energy through journaling, with contributions from Jon Batiste, John Green, and Elizabeth Gilbert. In honor of the one hundred artists, writers, and thinkers who contributed, Suleika has set up the Alchemy Fund as a tribute and lifeline to the next generation of creative minds at Girls Write Now.

Literature to Life: If Beale Street Could Talk

Literature to Life in partnership with Girls Write Now presents If Beale Street Could Talk. A story that remains disturbingly poignant sixty years after it was first published, James Baldwin’s If Beale Street Could Talk is about abiding love in the face of injustice. Told from the perspective of its young heroine, this is the story of one family’s fight for justice in a society where institutional discrimination has the power to destroy lives, a theme that resonates today with audiences from all walks of life.

Writing for Change

In this session, participants will learn about ways they can advocate through writing. Specifically, we will discuss our own journeys working towards change with a pen in hand, and we will ensure that participants come out of the lesson with passion and perseverance.

This Chat will explore the possible pathways to break into the theatre industry. Here is your chance to ask all of your burning questions with a panel that covers everything from playwriting to acting to producing and more! Come to learn about careers on and off the stage.
