Artist‘s Statement
To Be Like Kamau
The world tries to smother her fierce, quiet flame,
But she burns brighter with each passing day.
She is the echo of voices in shame,
A spirit that no one can take away.
Beneath the ashes, her fire still roars
Strength, where is righteousness?
I am about life
To be full like Kamau
Let nature
Coarse itself out
Course in… rejoice with
Being born… still.
