Pace University Publishing Program director since 2018, Soares has recruited industry faculty and is committed to providing a robust and relevant curriculum in the classroom and online to students interested in books magazines, and media.
She is on the Editorial Board of Publishing Research Quarterly, where many of the program’s thesis papers have been published in abbreviated form. During her more than 30 years in the publishing industry, most recently as the Managing Editor at Scholastic, she supervised their hardcover imprints, including the first five Harry Potter books. She has worked in both magazine and book publishing as a highly regarded writer and editor.
