Welcome to Spoken Word: Rhyme with Reason! In this mini course, you will; learn about poetic form and poetic devices, explore sharing your writing in multimedia and learn to reimagine your writing through revision.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will have:
- Been introduced to literary devices in spoken word.
- Gain an understanding of strategic and intentional rhyming in spoken word.
- Learn multiple types of rhyme schemes that can elevate a spoken word poem.
- Started a new poem or worked on an existing piece.

Mentorship
You are in one of the following pair types. You pair type is listed on your GWN Portal profile.
- Mentor/Mentee: Meet 2-3 times per month.
- Peer Mentee/Peer Mentee: Meet 2-3 times per month.

Attend at least one community event a month. You can choose from events such as Community Studios, Career Chats, Friday Night Salons, and Community Conversations. Check the Events Page in your portal for information on upcoming live events.
