On-Demand Mentoring sessions are available for young writers who would like support or advice on a specific topic. These sessions are offered for Career Development, College Preparation, Creative Writing, or Wellness.
Zine Production (Summer 2025)
The Zine Production Journey is an initiative to create a short print publication centered around a specific theme. Mentees and mentors who participate in this Journey will focus their creativity on designing written pieces of nonfiction, fiction, or poetry to be printed the next edition of Girls Write Now’s zine series, Take Me With You.
This cycles’ zine will be focused on the theme of Nature. Pieces will discuss observations of the natural world and our natural selves.
Perspectives on Editorial (Spring 2025)
Embrace editing as an essential aspect of writing in this journey that leads you through lessons and experiences that explore everything from line edits and grammar to the psychology of revision. Great for individuals who are interested in honing their skills for editing their own creative work (and the work of others!)
Teleplays (Summer 2025)
The Teleplay Journey is designed to help develop the skills and understanding needed to work as a writer in today’s TV industry.
This Journey provides insight into the work of a scriptwriter – a deep understanding of TV storytelling and professional scripts, drama vs comedy scripts, professional working practices, and employment strategies. Specific topics range from story structure and formatting scripts to actually seeing a script to fruition.

Each cycle, we’ll close read a new book and discuss it at monthly fixed meetings. We’ll focus, in particular, on reading as writers and taking note of the ways each author crafts their story. This cycle, we’ll be reading Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi.
