About the Event

In this community studio, each session will involve looking at pioneering African female & non binary writers and how they rewrote the histories & narratives of their identities. Following this exploration, attendees will be given the space to reflect on the ways their identities have been written or told & rewrite these narratives.

This month, we will be reading two excerpts from African female authors that used their work as a way to resist oppression. From their wisdom and inspiration, we will take the pen and work together to write a piece that resists forms of oppression within our society.
