About the Event

In this three-part poetry series, we’ll explore how writers give language to human emotion like grief and love. Through close readings and creative prompts, we will look at poems that hold grief, love, and also notice how these emotions may blur. Together, we will read, discuss, and write in response.

In this session, we will explore how poets may blur the lines when describing grief and love. Sometimes it is hard to even tell which one they are describing. Through close readings and writing exercises, we will discover how both can become a language of memory, of showing grace, and of transformation.
