Open to all mentees and all mentors

virtual event; open to all mentors, mentees, and members

You don’t have to invent a plot to write a page turner. In this community studio, we’ll explore the ways in which creative storytelling techniques can be applied to nonfiction writing of all kinds, from memoir and personal essay to op-ed and how-to articles. We’ll dive into what makes a story—from structural archetypes to writing that flows—and learn how to harness the power of narrative to make our nonfiction compelling and transformative.

This month, we’ll discuss how structure is an essential part of compelling nonfiction, explore the psychology behind story, introduce the Hero’s Journey, and learn how to use that framework in our writing to captivate and transform our reader.
