About the Event

Through this community studio, we’ll explore different subgenres of fantasy and fiction writing techniques. What is the difference between high fantasy and low fantasy? What happens when you shift the perspective of a story from a third person narrator to a first person narrator? How can fantasy be a tool to re-imagine old stories or invent completely new worlds?

This month, we’re talking about folktales, fairytales, and fables. What are they and what’s the difference between them? Why are there so many different versions of them, and how might you participate in the tradition of re-writing and re-imagining these stories?
