Emily Hein (she/her) is a content producer, writer and mental health advocate who’s passionate about dogspotting and sing-screaming show tunes in the car. A native New Yorker, she’s currently a Senior Story Producer for the Service Journalism team at Insider Inc., where she builds, formats and updates articles within Insider’s content management system (CMS). With a deep love for writing, Emily has covered products and services across all of Insider Reviews’ major categories, although she’s particularly passionate about covering mental health and education. Emily graduated from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), where she strived to challenge the mental health stigma through advocacy, writing, open dialogue and authenticity. She’ll be returning to this work as a Master of Social Work candidate at NYU in Fall 2021. Typically, Emily can be found in her favorite boxing class, attempting to dance at rehearsals for her theater group, journaling well into the night or baking banana bread.
