Sophie Da Silva is a high school sophomore who loves writing, drawing, and running. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where she lives with her mom, dad, sister, and shelves of books. When she's not writing a piece of poetry on the back of a worksheet, Sophie enjoys going on long runs with her cross country friends, making playlists, and watching a good movie with her sister.

Artist‘s Statement
Sophie Da Silva is a French-Mexican girl who explores the experience of being the first American in her family. She hopes, in her writing, to weave emotions and memories that create a space where everyone can see themselves. Whether it’s a short story, poem, or (hopefully) the novel she’s writing, Sophie aims to bring a smile to your face.
