This Community Conversation is about Coping Through Comedy. In these unprecedented times, we are opening up a space where we can take a moment of reprieve to share our thoughts and laughs.
The session will be broken up into two parts. The first half will include an open space for anyone to share or shed any heavy loads we might be carrying from the world and want to get off their chests. Science suggests that the notion of “Holding Space” through mindfulness may be associated with benefits such as reduced anxiety, stress, and lowered blood pressure.
The second section will transition us into a more lighthearted conversation/open space to share the things we’re using to get through these hard moments. According to research, using humor as a coping mechanism has been tied to greater emotional well-being. So, get ready to bring your funny jokes, comedic clips, stories, or anything else that has been helping you in these times.
