The Inside Whirl

By Cheyenne Cuthbertson

I write all my pieces about something that affects me in life. This one is about emotions and how they feel.

To live with yourself
 Is like living with
 A thousand people
The swirl and whirl of
 thoughts
 Racing through your mind
 Racing down the track
 Down the streets
    of Manhattan
Emotions are those people
They surround you
 They are everywhere and nowhere
 Your friends and your enemies
  They keep your secrets
Alone and isolated in your head
Cold but warm at the same time
 Happy and scared and fearful
 The outcome alone.
