The wind gently caresses
my hair
as it blows
through the meadow
The flowers begin to dance
as she comes through
Swaying
back and forth
by the lonely road
She whispers secrets
in my ear
Pushing me forwards
through the meadow
The animals
scatter
as they hear her singing from afar
The houses
shutter and shake
under her breath
The lonely swing
rocks
back and forth
And if you look closely, you could spot old Mr. Pearson sitting on the bench
The wind softly brushes my face
as it moves
through the meadow
The trees part for her
Making space
to avoid any confrontation
She leaves a
small scar
through my chest
And it continues to
grow
as she forges ahead
Determined to travel
as far as she could go
Nothing stood in her way
All the plants:
Shriveled: ran: hid
All the people:
Crouched: covered: panicked
And like she came
She gently leaves
Yet what is left
Is nothing but death
