This podcast was inspired by discussions that Amina and Angelica had in their pair sessions, supported by their podcasting skills gained in a Girls Write Now workshop from three years ago. This particular topic of discussing the boundaries of friendship and romance among queer people was sparked through Amina’s questioning of the term “queerplatonic,” which led us down a line of inquiry about the topic overall. Our process was to first brainstorm which questions we wanted to explore in the podcast, followed by a period of thinking and writing about our answers. We then met to record the podcast, and the conversation that ensued transcended our initial questions altogether.
