Connect & Create

Mentors and mentees come from all backgrounds, professions, and skill levels. Pairs of mentees and mentors work in a structured one-to-one relationship on set curriculum to produce multi-genre, multimedia writing, develop leadership projects, and hone college and career readiness skills with guidance from the Girls Write Now team and community.

“Shenny is so creative and dedicated to her writing. It’s been an honor and a joy discussing writing and creative process with her every week. I am so interested in the novel she is writing, and I am so excited for the world to have it. I am so lucky to have been paired with her!”

“Stepping into the role of writing mentor at Girls Write Now has been a truly uplifting and rewarding experience. Being part of this brilliant, inclusive, deeply creative community has helped me to spread my own wings as a mentor and a writer. Sharing my time, guidance, presence, and passion for storytelling with my mentee has enriched my life in more ways than I could have imagined. Witnessing my mentee’s growth-filled journey, courage, boldness, and willingness to manifest her dreams through ambition, dedication, and our work together has been a highlight for me this year! When we help others shine, we benefit from that light! Girls Write Now has provided an unparalleled platform with support, tools, resources, and open communication. It’s been a collaborative; inspiring, joyful ride and I feel lucky to be part of something so special!”

“Girls Write Now inspired me to think of myself as more than someone who writes, but as a writer. My years as a mentee gave me the foundation to be the author I’m proud to be today.”
