Girls Write Now Attends the New York City Poetry Festival

Girls Write Now mentees Nyilah Thomas, Mia Lindenburg, and Tara Lago performed at the New York City Poetry Festival on Governor’s Island.

Earlier this month, Girls Write Now took to Governor’s Island to perform at the 13th Annual New York City Poetry Festival. Mentees Nyilah Thomas, Mia Lindenburg, and Tara Lago performed on White Horse Stage alongside Hanging Loose Press.

The New York City Poetry Festival, sponsored by The Poetry Society of New York, is a free week­end of read­ings, work­shops, open mics, and other activities. The event brings together a large community of poets to create a unique space for literary art and creativity.
