Book Riot Editor and Girls Write Now mentor Erica Ezeifedi invited mentee and NYS Poet Laureate Finalist Madeline Berberian-Hutchinson onto Book Riot’s young adult podcast, “Hey YA” to talk about her journey as a writer and to recommend books for young adults interested in poetry.
The conversation began with Erica and Madeline talking about the supportive environment that Girls Write Now creates for writers of all ages.

Madeline also talked about her experience of being named a NYS Youth Poet Laureate Finalist, and working on developing her writing both as a Girls Write Now mentee and as a participant at Urban Word NYC.
