Generation F: The 2018 Multimedia Anthology
Generation F: The Girls Write Now 2018 Multimedia Anthology debuted at the 2018 QWERTY Digital Media Exhibition, where our mentees showcased projects created at the intersection of language, technology, and art. Interactive poems made with code, video memoirs overlaid with self-produced music, and thought-provoking podcasts — our mentees used the skills they discovered in our digital media workshops to build these multi-platform and genre-bending works of art.
At Girls Write Now, our mentees are part of a generation yet to be defined, a generation facing unprecedented challenges, freedoms, technologies, and choices. They are fighters and feminists, freethinkers and forces to be reckoned with. They are fitting in (or not), fed up, fighting back, and figuring it out in classrooms, cafes, and all across NYC. This year, our mentees and mentors explored what it meant to be members of Generation F. As a community we sought to redefine our feminist identities, find our voices, fight for essential freedoms, and face our world with fresh eyes.

the art of self love
This poem follows a girl who, similar to any other teenage girl, has a hard time in her own skin. As she gets older she learns how to navigate being a young adult and finds herself— she overwhelms a callous world with light.
Too Fast
It is hard being a teenager in this day and age. Layla is constantly pestered with questions about what she wants to do with her life and is it going to make her money. However, she just wants the freedom to be happy in her career path.
Fear Is My Superpower
This piece reflects on my bravery on how no matter how scared I was to do something, I always went for it. Fear has become my superpower and has helped me grow and see how strong I am.
Into the Underworld, Chapter 1
This is the first chapter of a novel I've been developing for about six months. It is set in a future where humanity is divided by pollution, class, and race and the world order is on the brink of total upheaval by two very spunky girls and a suction tube.

This memoir is about realizing a place in history is out there, you just have to find it.
Her First Day
I'm tired of stories about girls falling in love with others, so I wrote, inspired by the meaning of self-love, how I realized I love myself. I define self-love as the regard for one’s own wellbeing and happiness. I wanted to portray a snippet of the journey that I made.

I write all my pieces about something that affects me in life. This one is about Emotions and how they feel.

This piece is about the process of reconnecting with our past selves and how the way we see things changes as we age.

My piece, “Green Tea. Hot. Mint With Honey” is a reflective personal narrative about a specific vulnerable period of time in my young life.
My First Rejection
My first rejection was serendipitous. While a relationship seemed appropriate at the time, the universe didn’t agree. I devoted my time to writing and painting many works. I thank that event for giving me the precious time to make history.
