Our interns are activists, actors, animal-lovers — and a critical part of our team. Whether they’re recruiting for programs, behind the scenes at workshops, or in a newsletter editorial meeting, we couldn’t make the magic happen without them. Meet our class of 2013 fall interns!
Sarah Andrew and Emily Turner join the team as Program Interns, helping out with everything from editing handbooks to website portfolios. Sarah’s an actor and Creative Writing major at New York University; Emily is a fellow NYU alum who has since traveled the world teaching, and now brings her enthusiasm for youth education back home.
Providing support to the Digital Media Mentoring Program is Sarah Hubschman, whose tech savviness will help take our Dorkshops to the next level! When she’s not at Girls Write Now, she works works part time as a Brain Trainer at a cognitive training center in addition to taking on freelance production and writing work.
Lending their leadership to Development & Communications, please welcome Brynnan Parish and Christine Kirby. Brynnan’s currently a junior at Fordham University, and is excited to bring to bear her experience in economics and international affairs. Christine also attends Fordham, and when she’s not at Girls Write Now or going for a run in the Botanical Gardens, she can be found working as a Residence Assistant on campus.
We’re so thrilled to have all of these talented ladies on board. Next time you see our interns around, be sure to give them a hearty welcome!
