Artist‘s Statement

I write to illuminate, empathize, collectivize, equalize, invite, comfort, feel, heal, invigorate, and free. Since childhood, the written word has been my solace. As a woman with mental illness, I experience BIG emotions, and the blank page allows me to unpack and celebrate my sensitivity. I am driven to investigate the plight of disenfranchised communities, empower voices rendered voiceless by systemic forces, explore the beauty of nature, and express my appreciation of life.
