Let’s Laugh About It: Stand-Up Comedy & Late-Night Writing

About the Event

Practice and explore two styles of comedic writing by creating jokes based on current events and personal stories. Participants will learn different strategies for engaging with satirical comedy writing through turning the news into jokes. Participants will also learn how to tell their personal experiences as a comedic story fit for a standup set.

In this studio we will learn about comedy writing and practice looking for a comedic angle in everyday events. The main focus for this first studio will be how to create jokes from the news, in the style of late-night writing.

May contain mature language and/or content.
