Jessica Noel Cadiz is a writer, painter, and environmental advocate born in Yorkville, Manhattan. They’re currently a freshman at Pratt Institute with a Presidential scholarship. Jessica majors in art history and is the president of Pratt’s beekeeping club. At college, they are strengthening their skills in both writing and visual arts through taking advanced classes. Their work has been published in New York Public Library’s “Teen Voices” magazine (2024) and shown in the Queens Museum for the Queens Borough Arts Festival (2025). In high school they were a member of the National Honor Society and participated in many youth led museum programs. Their contributions to the arts include internships and programming at the Whitney, Met, Guggenheim, and Dia Chelsea museums. And most recently they helped curate the “Global Gathering” exhibit at the Corning Museum of Glass as a junior curator. While they do poetry more casually at open mic’s at libraries or at their school, they’re passionate about using poetry and art as an outlet to inspire climate advocacy and intersections between cultures. Their long term goals are to continue being a multidisciplinary artist while also working in education, making the arts and learning more accessible to all. While Jessica isn’t writing or painting, they work for New York’s Public Interest Research Group or care for bees across the city.
