As a German-American writer, award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter, and book coach, Michaela von Schweinitz partners with women who are ready to shape the stories they’ve carried for years into books that matter.
Her work across disciplines in both Germany and the United States has taught her to recognize the universal meaning hidden within personal experience, and she helps writers create stories around the insight that gives their books lasting power.
Michaela holds an M.A. in Sociology and served as chief editor for several German special interest magazines before moving to Los Angeles, where she lived and worked as an independent filmmaker for fifteen years. She now lives in Manhattan, where she works as a professional book coach, helping memoir writers uncover and share the key moments of their lives.
Her short stories appeared in True Stories Vol VI, Spring And All, and Oaxaca, A Wayfaring Writer’s Anthology. She is currently writing her coming-of-age memoir, set in Europe in 1978.
