Johanna Wu is 15 years old (turning 16 in December!) and the youngest of three siblings from Queens, New York. She is a student at Stuyvesant High School. Her favorite subjects are constantly changing. In her free time, she enjoys dancing at school for performances, texting her friends, and listening to her favorite songs. She also loves to do makeup and try new sandwich combos at her school's nearest deli.
Artist‘s Statement
My work as a writer stems mainly from different memories I had growing up with my family. I think these memories do make them uniquely mine because everyone has a different background, culture, and identity, which I believe is highlighted in my work. I think I’ve grown by finding my voice in my writing and how to add language that adds more dimension to my writing. The message that I hope to convey is that every memory has meaning, even if you don’t see it at first.
