Miya Mahipat is a high school junior who plans to explore a professional writing career after college. Her proudest achievement is getting a silver medal in stunt, and she’s excited to grow her writing abilities. She loves to knit, collect books, and is essentially a teenage grandma.
Artist‘s Statement
In hopes of connecting with myself I choose to write mainly poetry to observe and understand my feelings and emotions. I hope to connect with those who read my pieces in a way where they understand not only the person I am, but to also help those understand their own feelings and navigate their emotions. I believe that by writing my emotions down through poetry will not only strengthen my own writing but also weave my emotions together in a fluid-cohesive way for readers to enjoy and relate to.
