Talia Argondezzi is a frequent contributor to the Shouts and Murmurs section of The New Yorker and to the acclaimed humor website McSweeney’s, where she wrote one of the top five most-read articles in 2021, 2023, and 2024. Her collection of satirical advice, Lean the F*ck Out (2023), is a parody self-help book that challenges the misguided hustle culture that demands women overcome oppression by working harder. Her new book, Bedtime Stories for Academics: Quibbles and Squabbles at Typical University (2026), is collection of linked short stories that re-set popular myths, fairy tales, and classic literary plots on a college campus. Bedtime Stories for Academics satirizes life as an academic: Hansel and Gretel think their professor is a witch, Cinderella is an underpaid adjunct, and Odysseus just wants to land a tenure-track job back home. Argondezzi teaches writing and runs the writing center at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
