Fall 2025: Video for Performance & Digital Storytelling

Explore Tour Journey Learning Objectives:

1. Strengthen Multi-Genre Writing Skills: Build and refine your craft across genres such as fiction, journalism, and publishing.
2. Explore Multimedia Storytelling: Engage with diverse formats like video, podcasting, and visual storytelling to expand your creative expression.
3. Grow Through Collaborative Learning: Participate in mini courses, exploratory studios, and one-on-one pair sessions to grow with the support of Mentors and peers.
4. Personalize Your Creative Journey: Tailor your learning experience to your individual goals and projects across genres and media.
   
   Video for Performance & Digital Storytelling Mini-Course Learning Objectives:
   At the end of this course, participants will have:

• Gained a basic understanding of how video can be used for storytelling for self-expression.
• Learned basic video/audio editing on a non-linear timeline.
• Discovered how identity work can be translated into video work as a tool to tell creative stories.
• Understood the power of visual storytelling to address political and historical subjects.
• Found ways to express oneself using digital media and storytelling through a series of abstract but related sequences of images and video segments, along with text and audio overdubbing.

• Complete at least 2 pair sessions per month and log these in your Portal
• Attend at least one Community Experience per month (see Engagement Dates )
• Complete all lessons and assignments of at least two mini online Explore Tour courses (see Asynchronous Coursework )
• Submit at least one piece through the Submissions section in the Portal to be published on your Author Page

In the Explore Tour Journey you are required to attend at least one community event a month. You can choose from events such as Community Studios, Affinity Groups, Career Chats, Friday Night Salons, Community Conversations, and more. • Stand-Up Comedy Writing

As you progress through each lesson of this course, make sure to press “complete” before moving on to the next.

You are required to submit one piece of any genre through your portal by the end of the cycle in order to successfully complete the Explore Tour Journey. To meet the submission requirement for the Explore Tour Course, go to your Portal and select “Submissions”.
