
Welcome to Fresh Mouth: Confidence Through Comedy! We’re so glad you’re here.
This accompanying course teaches the fundamentals of joke writing, comedic structure, and crafting punchlines. You’ll explore how to develop your unique comedic voice, shape personal stories into tight sets, and experiment with timing, rhythm, and delivery. By the end of the course, you’ll have polished original material and the confidence to perform it for a live audience.
Specific topics range from Finding Your Comedic Voice, Spot-On Observation & Absurdity, the Rule of 3, and more!

Intro to Stand-Up Comedy Course Learning Objectives:
At the end of this course, participants will have:
Participants will attend two Journey Live Meetings each month as part of the course for the cycle. Additionally, you can schedule 1:1 office hours with the Journey Instructor for individual assistance as needed.
The cycle will conclude with Stand-Up Comedy Shows, where participants can perform their sets for a live audience. This will be a hybrid showcase, where participants can perform either in person or virtually.

Summer Cycle Stand-Up Comedy Show – HYBRID:
September 26th, 4 – 6 pm ET
Complete each lesson in the the following course. As you progress through each lesson, make sure to press “complete” before moving on to the next.
At the end of this cycle, you’ll submit a 5-minute stand-up comedy set that incorporates the techniques, structure, and insights you’ve learned. You will perform this set at our end-of-cycle Journey showcase, putting to practice the skills developed throughout the course.
