iFeminism is a dynamic series that explores topics at the intersection of media, advocacy, and feminism. Each session engages participants in discussions related to a new feminist topic that encourages critical thinking and creativity. Through commentary, collaboration, design, and more, we will examine issues shaping our communities. First, we will analyze how the topic is portrayed in the media and its impact on public perception and policy. Next, we will utilize creative writing and/or graphic design to express our personal and collective experiences with this topic. Join us as we use storytelling and visual media to raise awareness and advocate for change.
This month’s session takes participants through a multi-step process in intersectionality, a term that points out how our multiple identities have parts that either are oppressed, provide us with privilege, or find themselves on the spectrum. It challenges us to see ourselves holistically in comparison to how white feminism seeks to blind us.
