in-person event; open to all women-identifying, trans* and gender-expansive members of the public
Please join Girls Write Now and STARS Citywide Girls Partners for our Youth Be Heard Town Hall discussion. Our theme is “Self-Care to Community-Care: WE Got US!” and we will be facilitating a dialogue with a local NYC Council Member. Whether you’re already politically active or looking to get more involved in your community, you’re welcome to engage in powerful and insightful dialogue between young people and those in power. We’ll talk about working together to foster an environment where community-care is a shared responsibility.
‘Self-Care to Community-Care: WE Got US!’ is more than just a theme—it’s a call to action. It’s about recognizing that while caring for ourselves is essential, it’s only the first step. The next level is realizing the power we have when we come together and support each other. Whether we’re talking about mental health, creating safer spaces, or advocating for social justice, the strength of our community is what makes real change possible. ‘WE Got US!’ isn’t just a statement of solidarity—it’s a vision for a future where we take care of each other, and where local government plays a key role in making that future a reality.
