Forgive

Forgive

In Adeo’s left hand she holds a damp shivering paper; she holds her temple in her right palm.

Letters on the paper faded by tears come together into this message:

Lover, understand destiny's tide kidnaps
sails set on course to womanhood ahead
thus matrimony and motherhood
Envy stiffens the scorned body of thee
a retracted navel set to vomit
communal sea sickness and resentment
Soon like manifests through my body
now two once girls enduring decay
if she's a girl I hope I see myself
as I saw myself in thy blackened orbs
Our roles confined us to cling to sparks
love or codependency never sure
a bond lest the legality strike us
The sooner to wed more the beast are thee
We both want fire but God set me to sea.
Forgive! I beg with my teeth forgive me!
Noor

There is no vengeance or grudge in her tears. Reading the final line only brings her to erupt in shame. It is a shame that Noor could be brought to such a pleading state. Maybe they could have fought harder for their love but the fight to hide it was a fight for their lives.
