birds chirp in the mildew sky, my eyes aslumber over their blue wings. black holes spin-splatter my brain, my neck screams at me. trees stay, knowing. nature’s got a crush on me, and the sinusoidal breeze cradles pink petals, with cousin Bear, salt saturates my lungs and Bear catches my eye, and I trickle a current of laughter. there is only the ocean, you, and me.
I wrote this poem after the Earth Day workshop with Twitter, adapting my opening lines and the title of our cento poem for this piece. In the thick of school-related projects on black holes, quantum mechanics, and electricity, I wanted to play by complimenting the language of technology and nature.
