In collaboration with Professor Ellen Francese and her students at the Berklee College of Music, we are proud to present five songs based on poems by Girls Write Now mentees featured in Girls Write Now On the Art of the Craft: A Guidebook to Collaborative Storytelling. Some songs feature readings of the original poems while others use the mentees’ work as inspiration for the orchestration and lyrics. Altogether, they show that amazing things happen when writers collaborate.
