Founder Maya Nussbaum Speaks on Feminism and Climate Change at U.S. State Department Panel

On Thursday, Founder and Executive Director Maya Nussbaum spoke at The Innovation Station: New England, an event hosted by the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues and the U.S. State Department spotlighting women- and girl-led innovative strategies to address climate-related challenges. Maya spoke on a panel about Innovations in Publishing along with Dede Cummings, Founder of Green Writers Press.

Maya highlighted stories by Girls Write Now mentees on the topic of climate change, including Jade Lozada‘s essay, “The Climate Crisis Needs a Story.” The panel demonstrated one of the many ways that storytelling can empower individuals to tackle the greatest issues of our time.
