An introductory video played on loop in the center of Times Square

On Thursday, May 31st, Girls Write Now received the opportunity of a lifetime: opening the NASDAQ. Before ringing the opening bell, founder, Maya Nussbaum said a few words about why it is more important now than ever to support Girls Write Now’s mission to elevate the voices of young women of all backgrounds. Outside, a video played on the NASDAQ’s billboard, shining a very large and much deserved spotlight on the hard work and passion of our staff, board, mentors, and mentees. All in all, it was a perfect way to continue GWN’s 20th anniversary celebration.
