As a student coming from California coming to this camp was a great way to get exposure in the media and entertainment industry. A career field I aspire to be a part of in the future. The camp was very informative especially going on the tour, scavenger hunt, and meeting various career professionals at NBCU. Everyone who came and spoke with us was very welcoming and inspirational.”

On July 15 and 16, 2026, six Girls Write Now mentees, Summer Boxer, Anjali Darji, Petra Wong, Madison Mailutha, Ava Levermore, and Jayla Hall Cabrera, experienced an incredible opportunity to learn everything there is to know about working at media powerhouse, NBCUniversal.

My experience at NBCUniversal was simply unparalleled to any other career event that I’ve been to. My favorite thing about Girls Write Now is how inspiring and vehement the vast network of like-minded creatives is, and I felt that exact same energy being captured at 30 Rock.

After being greeted by NBCU’s Corporate Social Responsibility team, Anarid Catedral, Samantha Cammarata, Nicholas Perez, and Cherry Nallamalli, mentees were introduced to peers from Girls Inc., Minds Matter NYC, New Alternatives for Children, and Young Audiences of New York.

The camp consisted of two full days of activities, including a trip on the famous NBC Studio Tour, a scavenger hunt around 30 Rock, a photography session to get professional headshots, and a vision board session to manifest future career success.

Growing up, I have always wanted to be a lawyer. All I heard of was lawyers that worked at law firms, but the NBCU career exploration camp helped me realize there are many opportunities within the legal field, in house, such as licensing movies, working with HR, and other incredible job opportunities.

Summer Boxer

I’m so incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to attend the NBCUniversal Career Inspiration Camp 2026. Getting the chance to go behind the scenes and experience the fast-paced world of media and entertainment firsthand was truly an unforgettable experience.

Jayla Hall Cabrera

From touring the behind-the-scenes of production at Late Night with Seth Meyers to speaking with someone who designed the digital art for the games on Peacock’s website, I was truly amazed. The incredible experiences I gained over just two short days will stick with me for years to come. NBCU helped me realize that as a rising junior in High School, I don’t need to have my future completely figured out.

Madison Mailutha

Throughout the experience, they met with NBCU employees who have a wide variety of jobs and backgrounds to showcase all of the incredible opportunities that exist at NBCU. Mentees were able to ask questions and learn key details of each professionals’ journey.
