“I firmly believe that when kids create, they don’t destroy- they inspire us all. At this time more than ever, we need to bring our youth from all 50 states together to become PeacePals and express their visual wishes for peace- because, after all, they will become the leaders of tomorrow.”

Girls Write Now is proud to collaborate with CITYarts on this year’s digital Peace Wall, a project that brings together young artists and writers from across the nation to celebrate creativity, community, and social impact. Through this partnership, Girls Write Now mentees submitted original poems and visual artwork inspired by the themes of peace. The result is a collection of pieces that embody radical joy, resistance, and collective care.
The annual Peace Wall will be unveiled in Washington, D.C. this summer as part of the commemoration of the nation’s 250th anniversary. CITYarts—an organization dedicated to engaging youth alongside professional artists in the creation of public art projects, including murals and mosaics—empowers young people to transform communities through creative expression. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment between CITYarts and Girls Write Now to uplift youth voices and highlight the power of art and storytelling to inspire connection, reflection, and change.
