Masie Cochran, editor at Tin House Books, interviewed Erica Silberman, Girls Write Now Director of Community Outreach, and her mentee Samantha White, a contributor to Girls Write Now: Two Decades of True Stories from Young Female Voices (Tin House), about their mentorship relationship. As Samantha puts it: “It’s nice, having someone to show your work to, ask questions about life. I love that I have her in my corner. . . . That’s a serious comfort, to know that in writing and in life I can make mistakes and have someone who won’t judge and will help me through it.”
