The Audacity is Roxanne Gay’s bi-monthly newsletter that features an emerging writer twice a month. Emerging writers are defined by The Audacity as someone with fewer than three article/essay/short story publications and no published books or book contracts.

The Audacity features only non-fiction for the Emerging Writer series and is particularly interested in literary essays and memoir. Essays should be between 1500 and 3000 words and are paid a flat fee of $2,000.
