Most of us aren’t elite athletes, but everyone has the ability to adapt the elite athlete mindset techniques to settle, refocus and ultimately harness our power to succeed. In this workshop, Girls Write Now Mentees learned from NCBU “Mentors for the Day” about training your brain to stay in the present and move past negative thoughts on your way to achieving your goals.

Make Your Own Holiday: Celebrate Anything & Anyone!

Writing Workshop

Inspired by the “Festivus” episode in the hit NBC show Seinfeld, this workshop gave you a chance to embrace your own inner holiday, celebrating anything and anyone you want. Participants let their imagination run wild as they worked in small, multi-generational groups with NBCU employees—”Mentors for the Day”—and Girls Write Now Mentees to create a theme and design, plan a menu and playlist, draft an invitation, and even curate a dream guest list.
