So you want to get into publishing, but courses are costly and you don’t have any insider connections… What do you do? That’s where Girls Write Now and Inkluded come in.
Inkluded is a nonprofit championing diversity in publishing by training and placing young people from underrepresented groups into their first publishing jobs. Join us as we discuss what it takes for marginalized voices to enter into and make it in the industry.
Meet alum of Inkluded Academy who are now working in publishing, and hear from the founder of Inkluded, Michael Mejias, about this groundbreaking program and how to apply. If you’re an English major deciding what to do after graduation, a book lover curious about the industry, or just passionate about diversity and storytelling, this event is for you.
About Inkluded
Inkluded is a nonprofit championing diversity in publishing by training and placing young people from underrepresented groups into their first publishing jobs. Through our programming, we support and embolden marginalized voices, collaborate with like-minded organizations, and facilitate actionable discourse regarding the lack of diversity in our business. In doing so, we make the literary community a more welcoming and aware space for all readers, writers, and industry professionals. Inkluded Academy participants have gone on to work across departments at Workman, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Oxford University Press, and more prestigious publishing houses.
