Girls Write Now mentees had the chance to speak with BiC employees about how to be their authentic self in the workplace. Panelists spoke about finding community, work/life balance, career pathing and career options, working in global roles and communicating across cultures and time zones, and Employee Resource Groups at BiC.

The Ideas World Cup Competition, sponsored by BiC and the Global Creative Community of Practice, is the largest brainstorming event in the world. Celebrating the importance of individual voices in building a movement of creative education, participants submit their best ideas to answer the question “How might we inspire creativity in education?” Girls Write Now mentees submitted short videos with their own ideas on how to bring more creativity to the academic space. Mentees focused on why creativity is important to them, the changes they would like to see in their own education, and the roles they hope to play in building the future. 

Girls Write Now Mentees got ahead of the dread with this lively workshop in which the tables turned, with Mentees playing the part of employers interviewing BiC “Mentors for the Day” for the silliest, most unusual jobs ever! This workshop allowed Mentees to prepare for and deliver an outstanding interview by diving into best practices and shifting their perspectives to think like employers.
