In this Friday Night Salon, you’ll explore how to write the story only you can tell. Through guided exercises, learn how to craft vivid scenes by engaging your body, memory, and meaningful objects, transforming personal experience into powerful storytelling. Here, we encourage writers of all ages and backgrounds to believe that your story is worth writing by embracing courage on the page and letting go of hesitation and self-doubt to write with honesty and boldness.
Juliet Faithfull has done just that in her debut novel, out April 28, with Jenna Bush Hager’s new imprint Thousand Voices. Liar’s Dice is the story of a young Brazilian girl named Dolores whose twin sister is suddenly sent away with a mysterious illness and then erased from the family as if she never existed. Growing up in Rio under a repressive regime, Dolores struggles with grief and isolation, finds an unlikely friend, and becomes determined to uncover the truth about her sister, no matter the cost.
Warmly open to the public, this Salon also serves as a feature of our Thousand Voices Book Club Journey, in which mentors and mentees explore contemporary literature by closely reading three books from the Thousand Voices catalog.
Thank you to Jenna Bush Hager and her imprint Thousand Voices, part of Random House Publishing Group, for bringing Juliet into our community of writers!
