In this studio, we will be practicing meditation and writing to explore themes of suffering and compassion. We will begin by meditating on our personal suffering, then writing to arouse self-compassion for ourselves. The second session will examine the suffering of our loved ones and not-so-loved ones, and how to use writing to communicate compassion and facilitate relational healing. Finally, in the third session we will examine suffering on the global scale, meditate on research regarding our global crisis, and practice writing as a conductor of compassion for all beings.
In this interdisciplinary studio, attendees will explore and discuss compassion in relation to their loved ones and not so loved ones, meditation, and methods to deepen their writing practice. Attendees will participate in a meditation and complete writing activities designed to encourage mindfulness.
