About the Event

Bring your personal statement (650 words max) to be workshopped and revised alongside Macmillan employees, who will serve as our Mentors of the Day.

This event is a unique opportunity for mentees to receive personalized feedback on their writing from professionals in the publishing industry—and for Macmillan employees to share their expertise, connect with young writers, and support them in developing their stories. Whether you’re applying to college, graduate school, scholarships, or simply looking to hone your narrative skills, this session is designed to help you craft a compelling and polished personal statement.

Together, mentees and Macmillan mentors will dig into what makes a personal statement effective, sharpen each writer’s voice, and strengthen their approach to telling their story.
