Finding Your Voice: Creating Memorable POVs in Fiction with Jennifer Lauren Brown
In this community studio, we’ll talk about all things voice: the elusive monster of narrative fiction. We’ll do exercises to figure out how our narrators speak and how to make each character that appears in our stories each have a distinct style, personality, vocal quirks, and -isms.
This month, we are going to talk about the relationship between voice and character. We’ll get to know our main characters and talk about the ways their personality traits, background, identity markers, and more influence the ways our characters think and speak, whether our narration is 1st person, close 3rd, or even 3rd omniscient.
