About the Event

Geography is destiny. Where you are is who you are. It’s easy to think of setting as a backdrop to a story, but it can be so much more. In this studio, we’ll explore how to use setting to establish a sense of place, enriching our story’s mood and enhancing our characters.

This month, we’ll discuss the relationship between sense of place and genre. We’ll explore how to use details of where and when a scene takes place to create a compelling, genre-specific mood.
