JRose

JRose is a spoken word artist born and raised in Queens, NY. Her love for Hip Hop inspired her to start writing poetry at the tender age of 16. Her profound yet relatable poetry transcends time and covers a wide spectrum of genres, styles and perspectives. Her writing speaks unapologetically about love, heartbreak, mental health, sexuality, women’s empowerment, trauma and everything in between. In 2015 she decided to take her poetry from paper to the stage and since then she’s been featured on stages in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Lancaster, Baltimore, D.C., New Orleans, and Tampa. JRose has landed headlining opportunities at The Nuyorican Poets Café, Inspired Word NYC, Voices In Power, The Annual NYC Poetry Festival, Lehman College, Temple College and many more. Her most recent accomplishments are her first two poetry slam wins at BRIC and the Nuyorican Poet’s Café. JRose also facilitates spoken word, creative writing and social media workshops. She facilitates workshops for incarcerated youth in Riker’s Island with Youth Justice Network and has facilitated for the NY Public Library, Urban Stages, Oye! Group, QCH NYC, Manifesto NYC, Black Girl Everything, the Newark Public Library, Luminous Minds Project, and many other organizations.
