This journey experience aims to inspire creativity, deepen understanding, and empower individuals to harness the power of multimedia for impactful storytelling and personal discovery.
Learning Objectives
- Grasp the concept of multimedia storytelling and how different media can be integrated to enhance narratives
- Articulate the benefits of using multimedia elements (text, images, audio, video) to enrich storytelling and identify examples in existing works
- Acquire basic digital literacy skills necessary for creating multimedia content
- Effectively use multimedia tools (e.g., photo editing software, video editing platforms, audio recording tools) to create and edit their own content

- Complete at least 3 courses in the Multimedia Tour
- Attend at least 1 suggested Community Experience per month
- Submit one multimedia piece to be published on Girls Write Now’s website
- Have at least 2 pair sessions per month
Multimedia Tour Package
As a mentee or mentor in the Multimedia Tour Journey, you’ll have access to a collection of online mini courses designed to help you discover new interests and skills and to try out lots of creative multimedia forms. You’ll be paired with a mentee or mentor for one full cycle, and you’ll meet with them at least twice each month. You’ll attend at least one community engagement experience a month – there are many to choose from to accommodate all of your interests and everyone’s schedules.
Multimedia Tour Courses
The Multimedia Tour offers short courses that introduce different multimedia forms that mentees and mentors can explore in further depth in pair sessions, community engagement events, and through more journeys in future cycles.

- Podcasting Fundamentals

Multimedia Tour Mentoring
Mentees and mentors in the Multimedia Tour Journey will be matched for one cycle. Pairs will meet for at least two hour-long sessions each month.
This Journey requires a cycle-long commitment to a mentorship relationship. If you’d like to mentor but cannot commit to this requirement, click here.
Multimedia Tour Community Experiences
Mentees and mentors in the Multimedia Tour Journey must attend at least one Community Experience per month. It is strongly recommended that they attend Exploratory Community Studios, College & Career Chats, and Salon Experiences.
